MALPAS FIELD CLUB

The next meeting of Malpas Field Club, on Wednesday 11th October (7.45 pm) at Malpas High Street Church SY14 8PR, will see the return of ever-popular speaker David Cummings.

David has been photographing wildlife, both in this country and abroad, for sixty years.

His talk entitled 'The Wonderful World of Wildlife', will include sections on the Great Barrier Reef, the Canadian Rockies and New Zealand, and will feature whales & dolphins, flowers of the Alps and plenty of wildlife from the United Kingdom.

Grand-master Danny Gormally, the recently crowned English Rapid Play Champion visited Malpas on Sunday October 8, and played an exhibition match in the Jubilee Hall, against 14 opponents from Cheshire, Shropshire and North East Wales simultaneously.He beat 13 of his opponents, and drew one, to Charles Lowick Higgie, after which Danny entertained some of his opponents with interesting anecdotes...
