Fun for all the family at Malpas Station Open Day this Saturday

Malpas Station invites the public to explore life as a firefighter as it opens its doors to host its annual station open day.
Running from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday July 23rd, the open day is set to be a fun filled day for all the family with face paints, parties, delicious food amid exciting live demonstrations from the Malpas firefighters.

Children can race around the station during at the Go Kart Party, which will see an inflatable track set up outside the station. There will also be face painting and a Children's Fire Poster Display. Children who would like to have their artwork displayed have the option to either bring a home made poster along or create one at the station. All young artists will receive a fire safety goodie bag.

Throughout the day there will be various demonstrations, one of which will be a road traffic collision demonstration where firefighters will rescue a casualty trapped inside a vehicle, followed by a line rescue demonstration later in the day.

Firefighters will be on hand at the Kitchen Safety Vehicle to show the damaging effects smoke can have on your kitchen, and to offer key advice to prevent these fires from happening.

Modern and vintage engines and the Service's fire bike will also be on display.

There'll be a variety of refreshments available throughout the day including an ice cream, iced drinks and a mouth watering hog roast.
