GCSE RESULTS SUCCESS FOR CHESHIRE WEST YOUNG PEOPLE
Young people across Cheshire West have been celebrating today (Thursday 25 August) after receiving their GCSE examination results.
More than 3,300 year 11 students from across 19 academies and secondary schools took part.
Provisional data shows that 79% of 16 year old students in those schools in the borough gained a GCSE in English at grade C or above.
This is an increase of 7 percent on this time last year.
In mathematics, 72% of 16 year old students in those schools in the borough gained a maths GCSE at grade C or above.
This is an increase of 3 percent from last year.
