The next meeting of Malpas Field Club will be the first meeting of the new season, on Wednesday 13th September (7.45 pm) at Malpas High Street Church SY14 8PR.
The speaker will be archaeologist Vanessa Oakden, who is the Finds Liaison Officer covering Cheshire for the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
Through her role Vanessa records objects found by members of the public, mainly metal detector users but also field walkers, gardeners and others.
The subject for her illustrated talk will be 'Recent finds from Cheshire'.
The Field Club committee has planned a varied programme for the 2017/18 season, covering natural history, local history and general countryside matters.
