Originally born in Moss Side, Manchester in 1969, to parents who ran a small shop in a 2 up 2 down terraced house, living above the shop in an extremely deprived area of Manchester. Obviously back then I and my friends didn't think we were deprived, as we had a normal upbringing, with family values instilled into us from a very early age.
I left secondary school at 16 with 8 CSE qualifications and have had a varied and really rewarding working life from Rail, Gas, Social Housing through to my current position within the Retail Sector.
I moved from Manchester to Threapwood in 2013 and now work as the Team Manager at the Coop in Malpas.
I have various interests in my personal life, one of which is ghost hunting. I have been fortunate enough to meet the UK's best ghost hunter Yvette Fielding and her Husband Karl Beattie on numerous occasions, even appearing live on TV with them many years ago, which was an experience in itself.
Working in the heart of the village gives me a greater perspective on Malpas, it's people and it's community, which is why I was fortunate enough to be chosen to be a Parish Councillor.
Inclusion has always been something I have done all my life, no matter what age, background, culture, sexuality we are all the same under the skin and believe together we can make a difference, no matter how small, being involved is what matters most.
Being part of the Parish Council is not about me but for the residents of the village, a voice in things which matter most to them.
