MALPAS FIELD CLUB – Next Meeting 9th October

The next meeting of Malpas Field Club will be on Wednesday 9th October (7.45 pm) at Malpas High Street Church SY14 8PR, when Dan Trotman from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds will give an illustrated talk 'The RSPB on the Dee : 40 years of giving nature a home'.

Over the past four decades the RSPB has been involved in conservation work to protect the Dee estuary as one of the most important wildlife sites in Europe.

The talk will illustrate the main wildlife highlights and give an overview of the visitor facilities at Burton Mere Wetlands, where Dan is the Visitor Experience Manager.

As well as marking this 40th anniversary for the RSPB, the meeting will also be the 40th anniversary of the founding of Malpas Field Club – in celebration, free 'enhanced' refreshments will be on offer after the talk!

The talk forms part of a varied programme covering history, natural history, farming and other countryside topics.
