It is with regret that the Committee members of Malpas Field Club announce that the Club has had to wind up its affairs and to finally close down after forty years of activity.
The Club was formed in 1980 for anyone with interests in local history, natural history and the countryside in general.
Each season it organised a programme of around eight indoor talks and up to three outdoor meetings, usually a guided walk, a visit to a place of interest or an outdoor activity.
In its early years, when many families were in membership, there were also sub-groups catering for younger members (the 'Watch' group), natural history recording and local history research.
The final meeting was held in March 2020, after which the first coronavirus lockdown brought an end to activities.
All of the Club's assets have been transferred to Malpas Community Links so that they can be available to support future events, activities, new organisations or other initiatives beneficial to the community of Malpas and district.
