Born in Cuddington Heath, Malpas in 1888 or early 1889 (baptised 23rd January 1889)

Third son of Joseph and Mary Davies of Cuddington Heath, Malpas.

David’s trade on enlisting was recorded as a waggoner.

Killed in action in France on 17th April 1917. Aged 29.

Further Information:

David Davies and friend John Hopley had enlisted and were waiting to be called up in October 1914.

They were serving by December 1914.

Both were killed in the same battle, by the same shell, on 17th April 1917.

They are buried in adjacent graves.
