Third son of Joseph and Mary Davies of Cuddington Heath, Malpas.
David’s trade on enlisting was recorded as a waggoner.

David Davies and friend John Hopley had enlisted and were waiting to be called up in Oct 1914.
They were serving by December 1914.
Both were killed in the same battle, by the same shell, on 17th April 1917.
They are buried in adjacent graves.
