Born in Malpas, Cheshire in 1886.

Fourth son of the James Allman and the Elizabeth Allman of Malpas, Cheshire.

Husband of Martha Allman of 7 Stafford Street, Birkenhead (married in 1909).

George married Martha in 1909, and Martha Allman is identified as the recipient of his war pension

The 1911 Census shows George as a metal machinist.

The 1911 census and the residence of the Allman family (both parents are still alive and living with 2 children – they had 12 in all)

They are living at Holly Bank, as Cross o' th' Hill.

George embarked on 16/8/1914.

Service records for Pte George Allman 7461 Cheshire Regiment survive, albeit in a partly burned state and they confirm that his parents were both dead.

The military records record George Allman 7461 on 7/9/1914 as missing since 24/8/1914.

It is not clear when they concluded he had been killed.
