Born in Malpas on 14th November 1898 (baptised 1st January 1899).
Fourth son of William and Elizabeth Boycott of 180 Broomfield Road, Coventry, formerly of Old Hall Street, Malpas.
George recorded his occupation as general labourer when enlisting in 1917.
His address in the 1918 Electoral Roll is listed as Old Hall Street, Malpas.

Described in the Malpas Deanery Magazine as a good swimmer, he accidentally drowned whilst bathing in the Pembroke docks.
His older brother, Thomas, also lost his life in the Great War.
