Born in Inverness, Scotland in 1889.

Son of Alexander and Annie Mackay.

Married Annie Dutton. She met George when she was living Chester and they were married on 14th August 1915.

Regiment:           Royal Air Force.

Rank:                 Chief Master Mechanic.

Serial Number:   1782.

On 12th October 1914, George had enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps; his occupation being recorded as chauffeur.

George was serving in Iraq as a master mechanic when he sustained a chest wound in Baghdad on 29th July 1918.

Record of Death:

Died of his chest wounds in Baghdad, Mesopotamia on 10th August 1918. Aged 29.

Buried in Baghdad North Gate War cemetery, Iraq XI.D.9.
