Born in Inverness, Scotland in 1889.

Son of Alexander and Annie Bertha Mackay (Nee Dutton)

There is no reference to this family in the Scottish census records.

1901 census shows the Dutton family living in High Street, Malpas. 

Annie Bertha Dutton was born and grew up in Malpas with her parents and all her siblings.

She met George when she was living Chester and they were married on 14 August 1915.

.

Almost a year before, on 12th October 1914, George had enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps., his occupation being recorded as chauffeur.

The 29 year old was serving in Iraq as a master mechanic when he sustained a chest wound in Baghdad on 29 July 1918.

He died of his wounds on 10 August 1918.
