Born in Hereford in 1890.
Eldest son of William J Glover of Foel, Llangadfan, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire and Mary Jane Glover. (nee Williams)
Mary Jane died in 1913, and William moved to live at Foel, Llangadfan, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire, Wales.

Jack lived in Kent. He enlisted in Ashford in 1914, declaring his occupation as domestic footman.
Jack was linked to Malpas through his aunt, Eliza Ann Downes (his mother’s sister), who lived at Cross O’th Hill, Malpas.
Jack had lived with her at some time in the past.

The Glovers came from and lived in the Malpas area, although Jack does not appear to have been living with his parents and siblings.

Jack’s brother, George, also lost his life in the Great War. Jack predeceasing George.

The link between the Williams and the Glovers is George and Frances Williams of Cuddington had a daughter Mary Jane who married a William Glover The Glovers had 7 children – John (Jack), George, William, Ethel, Phyllis, Alice and Mary.
The service record for John confirms the surviving siblings in an affidavit sworn by Eliza Downes (one of Mary Jane's sisters)
