Under the Council's Waste Strategy, a chargeable Garden Waste service was launched in March 2022.
Subscription to the service is on an 'opt in' basis, meaning residents who would like to receive a garden waste collection are invited to subscribe and pay once a year. The service is offered fortnightly over 40 weeks of the year with a 12-week suspension over the winter months.
What is happening
Online applications for the 2022 service have now been closed and the final garden wastecollections for 2022 will take place between Monday 21 November and Friday 2 December.
The service will then be suspended over the winter months restarting on 27 February 2023 for residents who choose to subscribe.
Residents who provided an email address when they subscribed will be informed by email to check their calendars for their final 2022 collection day.

More details will follow including when residents will be able to subscribe.
Collection Calendars
The current kerbside collection calendars issued to residents at the end of 2021 expire on Friday 2 December 2022.
During the last week in November new collection calendars will be issued to all residents via Royal Mail.
These calendars will confirm when garden, domestic, recycling and food waste collections will take place.
They will also advise of any day changes for collections over the Christmas period.
A small number of residents will continue to receive a garden waste collection on a different day to their recycling collection.
All affected residents will be notified prior to subscription.
