Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Home Upgrade Grant scheme is available now and offers a variety of energy efficiency measures including insulation and clean-heat technologies.
The scheme will help lower energy bills through improved energy efficiency, reduce property carbon emissions and improve residents’ health and wellbeing resulting from warmer, safer homes.
To be eligible residents must meet the following three criteria:
Living in a property which is heated by electric, LPG, oil or solid fuel
Property’s Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating is Band E, F or G
Household must be in receipt of qualifying benefits or have a combined annual income of £30,000 gross or less
The scheme is fully funded for homeowners.
Landlords with an eligible tenant are required to contribute one-third towards the cost of any improvements.
All information and the on-line application form is available on the Council’s Home Energy webpages.
Residents who don’t have on-line access can apply in person at the reception desk at either The Portal in Ellesmere Port or Wyvern House in Winsford.
