St Johns Threapwood

Back homeOur VillageChurchesSt Johns Threapwood

St John's Church is located in and serves the small community of Threapwood and was built as a chapel of ease for Malpas in 1817.

It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the deanery of Malpas.

Its benefice is combined with that of St Oswald, Malpas.

The church is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building.

The authors of the Buildings of England series state that it is entirely Georgian in style.

The church fills up for the major festivals for Easter, Christmas, and Harvest and, as such, is a focus for the local community.

Services at St John's

Communion is held here twice a month and is from the Book of Common Prayer.
