Born in Ellesmere birth registered in Quarter 4 1921.
Younger son of The Venerable Frank Jackson Okell (Archdeacon of Macclesfield) & Gertrude Emily Carrington Okell.
His father was Rector of Malpas and the family lived in The Rectory, Church Street.
He was educated at Marleborough College and Trinity College, Oxford, but left at the age of 18 to join the army.

His brother Lieutenant David Okell served in the Royal Artilliery.
His memorial service was held in Malpas Parish Church on November 4th 1942.
