The Beacon Lighting

Beacon Lighting on Castle Hill on Thursday 8th May.

Anyone wanting to participate in the parade needs to assemble in the Fire Station Car Park by 8:30 pm. (Bring a torch)

The parade led by a piper will then proceed at 8:40pm (prompt) to St Oswald's Churchyard for the Beacon Lighting ceremony which will be in line with the National initiative.

National Initiative

Introduction:
The proceedings will be led by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Mrs Sarah Callendar Beckett, and you are invited to gather at the Fire station Car Park from where, at 8:40pm, a parade will follow Piper Reg Flower to St Oswald's Churchyard for the lighting of the Malpas Signal Beacon at 9:30pm.

8:30pm Parade participants to assembly at the Fire Station Car Park

8:40pm Prompt -Parade led by a piper to set off for St Oswald's Churchyard.

8:50pm Piper gives brief rendition in the churchyard

8:55pm Bugler plays Last Post and Reveille

9:00pm Flypast by the Avro Anson WW2 plane.

9:10pm Flag raising on Castle Hill

9:20pm The reading of the Tribute

9:25pm Choirs Singing of "I Vow to Thee My Country"

9:30pmLighting of the Beacon (Nationally suggested to be at 9:30pm.)

The Flypast over Malpas will be at 9:00pm at the latest.
