617 (Heber) Squadron RAF Air Cadets

The RAFAC is a uniformed youth organisation funded by the Royal Air Force with more than 40,000 members aged between 12 and 20 years of age.

The RAFAC provides a range of activities, experiences and training for the cadets including flying, gliding, adventure training, First Aid, DofE Award, sports, shooting, STEM, space and a range of educational subjects that can lead to BTECs and Diplomas to support them as they move into their adult lives.

Part of our current focus is to assist in the local community with projects in order to increase the cadet's involvement with their local areas and increase the profile of our squadron.

Following what has been a tough few years for everyone, our squadron numbers have dwindled and it is our hope that, with the correct public exposure, we can make everyone aware of what we offer and the opportunities that the RAFAC provides young persons.

The cadets of 617 Squadron and the adult volunteers would like to offer their assistance with any projects in your community that you may need help with.

This could include anything from litter picking to providing support for a range of parish events.

We currently help with Car Fest and the Yesteryear Rally on an annual basis but are eager to be more involved with local events.

We ask for nothing in return apart from the chance for the cadets to get involved with their communities and raise awareness of 617 Squadron and the RAF Air Cadets as an organisation.

If anyone would like to discuss any opportunities or have any questions regarding our squadron, I am always more than happy to be contacted by the phone or email listed below.

Best regards,
