Malpas War Memorial Upgrade Brief No. 2

The project to add “missing” service
men with Malpas connections to our War Memorial is ongoing.

During Remembrance Day last November
two small wooden crosses were placed by the memorial.

The details on the crosses were:

R. Mills, Sargent Royal Artillery,
Died 1918

Tom Smith, Private – Lancashire
Fusiliers. Killed 7th August 2015

We currently have 11 missing
service men ‘s names to be added to the memorial, but we are anxious to trace
the relatives of these two soldiers to establish if they had Malpas connections
and should therefore be also added to our memorial.
