Just one week to go until the launch of the Malpas War Memorial Upgrade Project

Project Background:

Two Wartime roadshows organised by Malpas Community Links were held in Malpas High Street Church.

These were:

Malpas “100 Years on” Commemoration event in November 2018 and Malpas VE80 Celebration event in May 2025.

Historic research identified that there are nine WW1 men, one WW2 man, and one man from the Bosnia conflict with strong Malpas connections missing from the War Memorial and the Role of Honour book in St Oswald’s Church. They are also not commemorated on any other UK Civic War Memorial.

Project Objective:

To add the names of the 11 missing service men to the Malpas War Memorial and to update the Roll of Honour book which is kept in St Oswald’s Church.
