Waste Strategy rollout – delivery of the new bins to householdshas begun
Background
The rollout of the new recycling service has begun (14 February 2022).
This will see thedelivery of around 320,000 wheeled bins to residents, the receipt of new, more efficientwaste and recycling collection vehicles, and an upgrade to our materials recovery facility
(MRF) at our Canalside depot in Ellesmere Port.
What is happening
The first phase of the rollout of new wheeled bins for recycling is taking place across 38,660
households in five rounds, between 14 February and 27 March 2022.
The bins are being delivered to the properties during a five-week period.
An online tool has been created so that residents can enter their postcode to find out when
to expect delivery of their new recycling bins.
This can be accessed at:
https://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/residents/waste-and-recycling/waste-andrecycling-collection.aspx
Residents can subscribe to garden waste collection by using this linkGarden wastecollection (cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk) or contact 0300 123 7026.
As the new bins are delivered, residents will receive an information pack containing details of
what to put in each new bin, and new bin stickers.
In the next few weeks, a sticker will be placed on the domestic bins signposting to the Waste
pages on the Council website, and also reminding residents that they need to subscribe to
have their garden waste collected.
