Two iconic Cheshire countryside pubs, The Swan at Tarporley and The Lion at Malpas are currently reading themselves for reopening on Monday following the Government announcement that indoor hospitality can resume service from 17th May.
This comes as The Swan at Tarporley https://www.theswantarporley.co.uk/, which is located on the high street, announces an extensive restoration of its indoor dining area as well as outdoor dining area and bedrooms.
The 16 bedrooms which includes a handful of dog-friendly rooms will be open all day every day from Monday for full service.
The Swan's new menu, which will be available both indoors and outdoors, is viewable on its website now.
Both pubs plan to reopen with a a wide range of locally-brewed drinks and locally-produced food.
The establishments will be open for food or just drinks, and 6 people or 2 households will be permitted indoors.
This comes as the pubs pledge to order as much of their produce as they can from within a 25 mile radius, in the interest of supporting local businesses.
The Lion at Malpas https://thelionatmalpas.co.uk/ opened last summer and features 16 rustic bedrooms, 6 of which are dog-friendly. The pub has been warmly welcomed to the Malpas community and now stands as a major local attraction in the village high street.
Both pubs will be open 7 days a week, The Swan will open from 7am on weekdays and 8am on weekdays for breakfast service. The Lion will open from lunchtime onwards.
Andrew Culshaw, General Manager of The Swan comments: "We simply can't wait to show our locals the renovations, they won't even recognise The Swan! We're also looking forward to welcoming new guests for food and overnight stays, showing them everything that Tarporley has to offer."
Bethan Rose-Bailey, General Manager of The Lion comments: "it's been a difficult time for hospitality, since we launched in 2020, we've had to close multiple times due to restriction's. We hope this time that we're open for good and look forward to serving the Malpas residents at our pub that they've come to know and truly love."
Woody Barlow, Director of Bear Inns adds: "We are very happy that indoor hospitality can reopen, and I'd like to say a big thank you to our team too, we're really looking forward to having them back serving our guests. We just know the Cheshire residents are going to love what we've done with the two pubs, and we hope to see lots of people supporting local in these next few months."
Both pubs also feature event suites, the Tarporley Room and the Brereton Suite at The Swan and The Lion retrospectively.
As restrictions ease, these rooms will be open for business functions, christenings, small weddings, birthday parties and more.
In the interest of customer safety and avoiding disappointment, the Cheshire-based pubs are encouraging customers to book a table in advance, this can be done online on The Swan https://www.theswantarporley.co.uk/ and The Lion https://thelionatmalpas.co.uk/ websites.
Though a portion of tables will be kept open for "lets pop to the pub" moments.
There are measures in place to ensure compliance with the latest government guidelines on social distancing.
