Malpas Alport School, originally opened in 1745 and has had several locations and undergone many changes.
Recent years have seen significant expansion of the village and the school has seen pupil numbers grow from approximately 150 in 2008, to just over 260 children aged 2-11 years attending the school at present, with further growth expected.
In response to the growth of the school, combined with the challenges faced by many children during the past 2 years of the Covid19 pandemic, the school requires additional funding to enhance the learning, social and nurturing environment that a primary school should provide.
The Malpas Alport PTA has been asked to support the school with various targeted fundraising which includes having an area of the playground turned to AstroTurf, due to lack of field space for sports activity, a revamp of the current school library, including purchase of books, and upgrade of computing equipment as present iPads are out-dated resulting in apps and learning resources not working.
The estimated cost to meet the teachers wish list to enhance the school environment is more than £20,000.
